Opening days & Hours November 2025
Opening times, weather permitting, will be:
Saturdays & Sundays only during November
Sat, Sun, = 1030am – 430pm (1030-1630hrs) – last tour @ 4pm (1600hrs)
Tickets are available from our ticket kiosk next to the RSPB café at South Stack
Note: kiosk closes 30 minutes before the last tour to allow time for visitors to make their way to the island & lighthouse
Dogs are not allowed on the lighthouse island
Adults: £10.00
Concessions: £8.00
Children (5-16yrs): £5
Family ticket (2Ad & up to 3 Ch): £25
Payment by card preferred at the kiosk.
Cash ONLY on the lighthouse island (Entrance ticket sales only)

We are open, weather permitting, Saturday 8th March & Sunday 9th March 2025, hours will be 1030-1630hrs (1030am-430pm).
We will be closed 10th – 14th March and the reopen for the season as from Saturday 15th March 2025.
Hours will be:
Sat – Thurs 10:30am to 4:30pm
Fri 12noon to 5pm
last tour 30 minutes before closing, last access to island 45 minutes before closing.

Advert now closed 180124 – Wanted – Seasonal Visitor Guides for our unique location (Stack Lighthouse & Visitor Centre)
We are seeking a vibrant, energetic (fit – there are over 400 steps down to the island, so that’s over 400 on the way up as well), friendly and professional Visitor Tour Guide for our South Stack Lighthouse & Visitor Centre, to provide our guests with an exceptional experience while visiting us.
In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with visitors, sharing interesting facts about the history of South Stack lighthouse and the area around us e.g. North Stack, Ellens Tower etc., as well as about our company and answering any questions they may have.
You will also provide helpful tips on other attractions or restaurants in the area that are popular among tourists to help ensure our guests enjoy their stay in the area.
Tour Guide Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure ticket sales are recorded accurately daily.
Greet all guests promptly & politely at all times.
Outline the tour and timeline before beginning.
Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered.
Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner.
Answer any questions that the guests have.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of our facility and related topics.
Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic always.
Escort guests through the tour, taking breaks as needed.
Tour Guide Requirements and Qualifications
Work experience in customer service preferred.
Experience with public speaking is a plus.
Able to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately.
Fluent in English; bilingual a plus – our visitors are from Wales, UK, Europe and of course the rest of the world.
Exceptional communication skills
Flexible schedule – shifts can change due to weather conditions and external factors.
The rate of pay for the 2024 season is £11.50 per hour. Current shifts are between 5.5hrs & 6.5hrs long.
Own transport essential as no public services to the area.
